December was unusually cold, and we received quite a bit of snow, more than the normal year-to-date average. There was some snowmobile traffic the week between Christmas and the New Year, but not a very large amount. We got reports of excellent trail conditions, until a few days of warm weather and traffic caused conditions to deteriorate a bit. Well-timed trail grooming and a re-freeze have improved conditions the past few days. We had several guests who were considering cutting their trip short, but all stayed as long as they could and enjoyed each day’s ride.
Cross-Country skiers have been active since before Christmas. Skiers have told us they’ve had good days on the trails at Hanson Hills, Forbush Corner, and down in Roscommon.
