Busy Christmas

Winter has really set in up here in Northern Michigan, with cold temperatures, beautiful snow, and a decent base for cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. We’ve been quite busy since Christmas, and it’s shaping up to be a great winter season.  But cold, very cold. The pictures below were taken around …

2017 Arrives with Great Winter Conditions

Happy New Year!

Last week, Christmas brought 50 degree temperatures and worse conditions for snowmobilers and skiers.  Fortunately temperatures cooled down and we had several days of significant new snowfall.

Snowmobilers and cross country skiers have reported good conditions over the past few days.  Some rough trail reports, as expected, due to high traffic.  We’ve heard excellent trail reports from the trails to the Northeast, toward Lovells.

Today it’s all beautiful blue skies and fresh white snow.  We hope you’re enjoying the winter!

Winter Seasons End Quickly

Last weekend we saw snowmobilers and skiers on Saturday, then by the following Monday it was 60 Deg. F.  A very quick warmup has melted most of the snow in the woods. Snowmobile and ski trails are closed for the season, and we’re looking forward to spring! Related Images:

Late Winter Conditions

Sorry for the late updates, we were in Acapulco last week for a conference. We’ve had some warm weather over the past week.  The storm a few days ago brought 3-5″ of snow around here.  Some snowmobile trail groomers are running, though the Grayling groomers are waiting for more snow …

Great Winter Conditions

We’ve been quite busy over the past few weeks with snowmobilers, cross-country skiers, and ice fishermen.  Snowmobile trail reports from our guests have been almost entirely positive, even on the busy, typically rough-trail Saturdays. Snowmobile trail grooming continues, from our local club and even from the neighboring trail clubs.  Many …

Good Winter Conditions Continue

We’ve seen a busy and beautiful few weeks of Winter in northern Michigan, with lots of activity in snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.  We heard good reports from snowmobilers and skiers, although the normal rough Saturday-afternoon trail conditions are nearly unavoidable on busy Saturday afternoons. Snowmobile trails held up to the …

Busy Weekend

Many snowmobilers around this weekend, in addition to cross-country skiers and ice fishermen. Friday was a little warm, but this morning it’s 22 Degrees, snowing, and it looks like a beautiful day. Trail groomers are running, but expect some traffic on the snowmobile trails. Be careful out there! Related Images:

Spring Arrives Very Quickly

This was the quickest weather change we recall in the 13 years we’ve lived in Grayling.  Straight from a month of below-zero-temperatures to a week of 50 Deg. F and sunny.  Needless to say, all the snowmobile trails are done for the year. We look forward to another beautiful Summer …
