It’s been a quiet week in Northern Michigan, in terms of weather, snowmobiling, and general activity. There was some traffic over last weekend and through MLK day, but not a large amount. That’s good for the trails, as the thin base would not withstand much heavy traffic on warm days.
Based on reports we’ve gotten and what we’ve seen, many trails are rideable, and many are brown. Groomers are covering some trails, but not all. There seem to be decent trails in the usual area Northwest of Grayling, and we’ve heard this week from people who had nice rides off-trail in the Army land just east of Grayling.
We would like to see more snow to build up a better base on the trails, but there isn’t much in the forecast over the next several days.
